When one grows up poor and neglected and has been homeless, tired, broke, unemployed, underpaid, divorced and sexually assaulted, there’s not much they can’t do.  Right.

How to quickly spot a real catfisher,
the kind you don’t want to bite:

  • Person includes a whole name on their profile, i.e. David Arias, TyroneJohnson72
  • a. Common themes on real profiles are nicknames, things people like, what they are into and what is catchy
  • Responses to your questions are inappropriate or don't make sense
  • a. How's your day going, David? Good afternoon, how are you? I'm Jay, I'm new to you area have yet to update my Location! I like what I see and read on your profile and have an interest! Also I would like you to answer an easy survey question for me: do you prefer big white meat or big dark meat? In terms of satisfaction (snippet from a real catfisher on Plenty of Fish) i. Different names, no answer to your question, no interest
  • The profiles is an entire manifesto of their likes, dislikes, desires, work, trips, turn-ons, etc.
  • a. Wrong. The point of online dating is a way to get to know each other. If you provide all of the information upfront, there is no need to continue.
